Works have now been completed to the fairway bunkers on the 12th, 13th and 17th holes. Each of the fairway bunkers on these holes have been cleaned out to original shell then reshaped with new drainage installed before being relined in a capillary base and filled with sand. The bunkers themselves are now in play, though the newly laid turf around the edges will be ground under repair until properly settled.
Whilst the bunkers are new, the installed sand will have a settling period.
In addition to these rebuilt bunkers, there has been removal of the fairway bunkers on the 6th and one from the 3rd in leading upto the pond at greenside.
What next?
The remaining fairway bunkers requiring work are on the 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 8th holes (all Northern side). These bunkers will remain unrenovated though topped with sand until reviewed for schedule beyond this financial year.
