COURSE REPORT 13th March 2026
This week we had the pleasure of welcoming Jyri Kaapro from Envu Australia, National Technical Lead for Envu, along with GTS representative Dan Cook.
Jyri and Dan spent time with the team in a walk-and-talk session discussing the strategic use of pre-emergent herbicides for Poa annua, focusing on correct timing, placement and the role these applications play in maintaining consistent playing surfaces throughout the season. It was a great learning opportunity for the staff and reinforces our ongoing commitment to proactive turf management.
Course preparation has continued throughout the week as we work toward another busy weekend of golf. From all of us in the greens team, we wish the best of luck to everyone competing.
The Green Army have also been hard at work on our current focus area around the dam overflow. After some recent work and clearing, we can once again hear water streaming down the rock wall — always a satisfying sign the system is working as intended, more to come there.
Outside of that, our primary focus remains staying on top of the strong growth conditions we are experiencing across the course.
Have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing you out on the golf course.

Course Superintendent

COURSE REPORT 20th February 2026
Hi all, we are nearing the end of a brutal summer season with our attention turning from maintaining suitable moisture levels to winter preparation for Poa control. i.e – Pre Emergents applications and extensive planning.
As mentioned in last weeks video, we will be dividing the site into sections for different managers to take ownership of their areas. Tees, Collars, Greens and Green Surrounds, Rough, Fairways. Everything from agronomic planning to applications included in this, with myself overseeing the processes.
Overall goal here is to further develop all staff for our own longevity and their personal success.
Thank you!

COURSE REPORT 6th February 2026
Outside of course presentation, we have further refined our staff development priorities and core team structure.
We have successfully transformed the labour matrix from 60% casual labour to 20%, transitioning high-skill operators into full-time contracts. We have also renamed the full-time role to Turf Tradesperson, as this title more accurately reflects the skill level and responsibilities of the position.
Key progression this week:
- Patrick Tucker entered his 4th and final year of his apprenticeship on Monday.
- Patrick Boyle officially signed up for his apprenticeship on Monday.
- We welcome Josh Ward (already on our team) to the management team.
- Current leading hand Henry Gearin, stepping down to pursue personal career pathway. Commencing Monday the 9th of February.

This week the bowling green has reopened post renovations with outstanding results. We aim to continue making each part of our facility the best that it can be going forward. A low budget agronomic program will take place to maintain it’s conditioning.
The golf course has received 100mm of rainfall to date and is holding up reasonably well considering with 1 day of closure required. We are set to re open Saturday. Fescue area on the 16th has been modified and finalized this week and will be noticeable during the weekends play. Additional landscape projects have been completed this week and will be documented in next weeks video.
