WOMEN’S GRADE REPORT – Friday 27th February

Manly vs Avondale at Concord GC

Another early start for our grade team.

The rain through the night threatened the closure of the course but to our delight all matches went ahead.

This weeks grade team:

  1. Kylie Tallack
  2. Mackenzie Tiscareno
  3. Gemma Amate
  4. Angela Page
  5. Jodie Lord

It was a very soggy start but the ladies were still in high spirits. Most of the players relayed that they loved playing in the rain, thank goodness. The Manly team took early leads in all matches and kept those leads winning 3 wins and 2 squares, Manly wins 4-1!

Concord was beautifully presented despite rain and greens softer than normal.

Our very important caddies this week were Ali Gray, Julie Newell, Meredith Holmes, Anne Hutchinson and Anne Christie.

Thank you Liz Cavill and Suzanne Simaitis for coming out and supporting the team.

This morning our grade team courageously went down to the top team Monash CC, 4 1/2 -1/2.

Monash have taken out the top spot for the past 3 years so it was always going to be a tough day. It was very exciting for three of our players as they were debuting at this level. Monash had to fight for their win with all matches very close.

Pennant Hills was beautifully presented even in the midst of course renovations. Our players thoroughly enjoyed the day despite the early morning chill and the result.

Thanks to our players commitment and to our lovely caddies; Meredith Holmes, Gae Larcombe, Julie Newell, Anne Christie and Kusum Singh. Also thanks to our supporters who came out to cheer on the team.

Next week Manly GC is the host club to the following matches:
Pymble vs Pennant Hills
Concord vs Monash
The Lakes vs Avondale

Beth Haskins, Day Manager
