Dear Members,

The Board wishes to provide members with information relating to the setting of the annual subscriptions for 1 October 2023 – 30 September 2024.  As you may understand, the decision on fees each year is a balancing act to meet both the needs of the Club’s strategic objectives and meeting our members expectations.

SUMMARY
• 7 Day subscription has increased from $5,750 to $6,250 (8.7%) plus levy $250 with a total of $6,500.
• 5 Day subscription has increased from $4,250 to $5,000 plus levy $250 with a total of $5,250.
• 5 Day Members subscription is now 80% of the 7 Day subscription.

We recognise that members may make their own determination on which category makes the best value for their playing habits and wants and details on transfer requests have been published and are open to close of business on 21 August for the year ahead.

The Board and Management remain focussed on providing members & guests with a high-quality experience built on superior playing surfaces, first class amenities & attentive service.

The Club as whole has demonstrated a capacity to take on board, large scale capital works and to meet repayments as required. The commitment to deliver on a high quality experience remains unwavering, however the funding method may require a shift from asset disposal or increased borrowings to a forward planning approach as reliance on asset disposal is not sustainable.

As detailed in the recent Board notice 22 July, there is an extensive list of capital works required however we remain cognisant of working within our means and accept it is not possible to undertake all the identified works immediately.

The Club enters 2023/24 with many positives:
• Equity and stability in playing rights and fees.
• An outstanding golf course with planned improvement to fairway bunkering and vegetation.
• A new long term Course Maintenance Facility (completion Sept. 2023).
• Complete repayment of Course redevelopment (2012).
• A unique heritage listed Clubhouse set to celebrate its Centenary (2024).
• A team of hospitable, professional, and proud employees.
• An attractive membership offering with applicants ready to join.
• An engaged membership that enjoys the game of golf, amongst good friends and the camaraderie it provides.

We sincerely hope you have enjoyed the past year as a member and that you will enjoy all the club has to offer now and in the future.

Members may on written application request to:

  • Transfer their category of membership,
  • Update their storage (lockers, bag and buggy storage) on their annual subscription account or,
  • Resign from Manly Golf Club

Please find attached the Transfer Request Form which contains information on how to submit your request. For your transfer request to be considered, please return the Transfer Request Form by the 21st August to the office or membership@manlygolf.com.au. If you do not wish to change your category of membership, you do not need to submit the Transfer Request Form.

 Subscription invoices will be sent at the beginning of September with a 1st October due date. Members can refer to the By-Laws (LINK: https://manly.miclub.com.au/cms/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/MANLY-GOLF-CLUB-BY-Laws-effective-1-August-2023-1.pdf) to review the playing rights of their current category or the category they wish to transfer to.

Members wishing to enter a new direct debit arrangement or update your current plan, please complete the Direct Debit Form, and return to the Finance Manager by 21st August 2023. If you wish to cancel your arrangement, please email the Finance Manager by the same date: finance@manlygolf.com.au.
