Following almost 10 years of planning, the Board is pleased to announce the signing of contracts to enable the commencement of construction of the new Course Maintenance Facility (CMF).

The works will see the current principal machinery store structure demolished, new concrete hard surfaces across compound, new sand/soil bays and construction of a  new machinery and mechanic space. Existing staff demountable, machinery washdown bays and course additive storage areas will remain unchanged under the approved works.

The works will improve efficiency in the course maintenance operations, compliance with workplace health and safety and provide more appropriate storage and areas for repairs of machinery critical in the delivery of a first class golf course. The enhanced workspace will also assist the Club in remaining a preferred employer in attracting and retaining staff.

Conscious of increased material supply, labour costs and interest costs since project design commencement the tender process was facilitated via an independent third party.  The tender saw six builders invited to tender, with the contract to complete the works awarded to Carfax Commercial Constructions.

Funding ($3.6m) for the construction works has been sourced via the Club’s existing bank (CBA). The awarding of the contract and securing of funding has included testing of anticipated costs via quantity surveyor, tender process and financial capacity to complete checks on both the appointed builder and the Club.

It is anticipated that following completion of construction, the costs incurred will be financed over a long multi term facility to spread the repayments.

Below is an invitation for members to attend a site morning tea to hear from the Architect, Builder, Course Superintendent and Project Manager to gain insight into what the works will entail.
